Atypical Daydream was formed in 2022 when Scott Sifferle met up with Craig Johnson and Steve Tingle at a jam session. Next, they found Chad Schoonover and Kevin Sundberg. Kevin comes and goes with the band depending on his availability. Finally, Dave Rolf joined the band as he and Steve have played together in another band for 4 years.

We play in this band because we love the music of the Grateful Dead. It puts a smile on the faces of our fans. Come join us or book us for a show. Let us put a smile on your face too.

Scott Sifferle -  our fearless band leader, attended so many Grateful Dead concerts that even his pet goldfish knows all the lyrics to ‘Truckin’. When he’s not shredding on the guitar, he’s busy convincing the rest of us that tie-dye and flannel is a legitimate lifestyle choice.

Craig Johnson - our bass player who’s been a Grateful Dead devotee since vinyl was the hottest tech around. Craig’s so in tune with the groove that even gravity can’t weigh him down—he’s been known to sway like a willow tree at every show.

Steve Tingle - the keyboard player who insists every solo is just a deep, meaningful conversation with the universe. Which makes sense, because he’s usually operating at an altitude where only airplanes, satellites, and the occasional confused astronaut hang out. When he’s not layering cosmic sounds, he’s probably debating whether the ‘77 or the ’72 Dead tours had achieved the highest known level of human vibration.

Chad Schoonover - born on the railroad tracks in rural Wisconsin, didn't know the meaning of the word Home until he was hitched up in an arranged marriage at the ripe old age of 15. He now lives quietly in Bloomington, MN while waiting for some kind of a statute of limitations to expire.  Who knows?

Dave Rolf -  the gentle giant, who anchors our rhythm section with both power and finesse. When he’s not rocking the drums, he’s proving that sometimes the biggest guys have the softest groove. And, they can always carry the most gear in a single trip!

Kevin Sundberg - the drumming nomad who seems to have a beat in every corner of town. Whenever he sits in with us, you know the groove is about to get even more dynamic and full of local flavor.
